Thanksgiving Alphabet Matching and Initial Sound Matching Activity

Learning to recognize the alphabet letters and knowing the sounds the letters make in words is an important (and often difficult) skill for our learners to master as part of the reading process. So I like to have a variety of activities to help master this skill.

This turkey alphabet and initial sounds matching activity is a perfect addition to your Thanksgiving literacy centers.

Included in the Thanksgiving alphabet and initial sound matching pack:

• turkeys with the lowercase alphabet letter
• pilgrim hats with the uppercase alphabet letter
• pumpkins with an initial sound picture.

How you can use the pack:

• match the uppercase hat to the lowercase turkey.
• match the lowercase turkey to the initial sound pumpkin
• match the uppercase hat, lowercase turkey, and initial sounds pumpkin.
• ABC ordering with the turkeys (or hat).
• initial sound identification with the pumpkins.
