What educators are saying
My 6th graders did a fantastic job with this project! They did an awesome job planning and putting it all together. I was very impressed with their work. This resource has all the steps labeled and even includes a rubric for grading! I LOVED This resource!
I used this for my 8th grade AVID elective class. I loved reading the thankful thoughts of my students. I was surprised by what they were thankful for!
Description
I developed the Thankful project as a way to utilize the step up writing process. I used a printable turkey found off of Google for a portion. The students pick three aspects of their lives that they are thankful for. This project culminates with a 5 paragraph essay consisting of introduction, three paragraph body, and conclusion. I have done this project with students in grades 6, 7, & 8. This project is not just about teaching writing skills, it is also to help students develop gratitude.
