Description
Wondering what to do for Thanksgiving in the middle school and high school ELA classroom? Thank You Narratives is the perfect mini unit that gives students the opportunity to show gratitude to people who have made an impact on their lives. Students read the mentor text "Thank You, Ma'am" by Langston Hughes. After a close read and careful analysis, they brainstorm their own Thank You Narrative using the provided brainstorming slides and plot line. Students draft their narratives, then use the provided rubric to revise and peer conference. This study ends with a virtual gallery walk and sharing of Thank You Narratives!
This Narrative Mini-Unit includes:
- Step by step lesson plans
- Answer key
- Rubric
- 15 student slides that can be shared easily through Google Classroom
- Links to the story and audio of "Thank You, Ma'am" by Langston Hughes
