Text Structure Signal Words Anchor Charts

This is a set of 10 anchor charts that list text structure signal words. Also included are cards for each anchor chart that you can print and make a booklet for each student to have at their desk or to take home. The cards are in grayscale so you don't have to use so much color ink. (I know at my schools it is a luxury!)

Anchor charts include:
Signal Words Header,
Compare,
Contrast,
Cause and Effect,
Sequence and Order,
Description,
Emphasis,
Conclusion,
Facts, and
Opinions.

(These have polka dot backgrounds in red, blue, orange, pink, green, purple, and yellow.)

I post these anchor charts in a prominent place in my room so that kids can see them as we are reading and writing. I teach them how to use the words in their writing to make their ideas flow and how to look out for the words as they read to improve their understanding of the text.
