Telephone Life Skills - Rubric and Scenarios

This is a 6 page unit. It includes a 2 page rubric is meant to help students work on important telephone skills they will need as a consumer, friend, and worker in the real world. On the following 9 pages it provides 35 role play scenario cards for a variety of situations (ex: being late to work, asking a friend over for dinner, calling the doctor's office, etc.). Once done with each scenario the teacher can have students self rate. Teachers can then go back and go over their ratings for the student to make maximum growth.

Rubric assesses things like volume, tone, effective listening, pace, introduction, and closing. I have used this with my own students in a Life Skills curriculum and seen tremendous growth! This could also be used in a speech room or ESL classroom.
