What educators are saying

This is a fantastic resource to get student thinking about a variety of topics. It connects their own experiences to a short video which is great. Very useful.
Great resource for kids to learn and practice different skills that will help them throughout school and life.

Description

This product includes worksheets to accompany Ted Talks related to executive functioning skills: time management, planning/prioritizing, working memory, sustained persistence, emotional control, and task initiation. The length of each talk varies: the shortest is 9 minutes and the longest is 20 minutes. Each includes visuals, a little humor, and advice/lessons that your students will be able to implement immediately.

Ted Talks are an awesome way to break up a long class period, transition between units, or provide a little pick-me-up if students seem a bit down or off their game. I've searched through hundreds of talks (not necessarily a chore) and found these four that work really well to help teach executive functioning skills - something with which many students really struggle.

Includes QR codes and guide questions for the following talks:

"Feats of memory anyone can do"

Executive Functioning Skills: working memory and sustained persistence

"Why our screens make us less happy"

Executive Functioning Skills: emotional control and time management

"How to gain control of your free time"

Executive Functioning Skill: time management, planning/prioritizing, and task initiation

"How to get better at the things you care about"

Executive Functioning Skills: planning/prioritizing and sustained persistence

I've also included links to the assignments in Google Drive. You can send the link to the student to be completed online. The link will have the student create their own copy of the assignment in their Google Drive.

I hope your students love them as much as my students do!
