Description
This activity helps students read a chemical equation and determine each molecule as a product or reactant of the chemical equation. This activity teaches the following:
-counting atoms in a molecule
-reading a chemical equation
-identifying products and reactants in a chemical equation
-understanding mass does not change in a chemical change
Students use M&Ms as a visual to show the number and type of atoms present in a chemical equation. It is a wonderful visual! If you are interested in bundling to get a cheaper price, I have an ActivInspire flipchart available that goes over the notes section of this worksheet.
