What educators are saying

This is one of the best resources that I have used. It is complete, easy to use, and the students loved it
This was an easy to implement resource that was visually engaging and could be used by diverse student populations.

Description

This product is designed to be used in middle school classrooms.

This product is used to teach or review the elements of imagery. There are 20 pictures. Each picture lends itself to a vivid description in terms of imagery. Each picture asks the students to imagine that they were the person that took the picture. It asks them to describe the picture using all 5 senses.

How to use this in the classroom

There are many ways to use this in your classroom. The way I usually use this is to put several of the pictures on the wall for a gallery walk I then ask students to use the graphic organizer to go around and describe each of the pictures. After the students have finished, I then ask the students to choose their favorite picture and then turn it into a short story, using all the elements of imagery. This final piece is what really puts the rigor into this lesson.

These could also be used as simple warm ups or as a picture writing assignment.
