Teaching Common Core Vocabulary: 26 Testing Terms!

"MY KIDS KNOW THIS! I KNOW THEY DO BECAUSE I TAUGHT THEM AND OBSERVED THEM AND ASSESSED THEM AND RETAUGHT THEM UNTIL THEY REACHED PROFICIENCY!
WHY ARE THEY MISSING THE QUESTIONS?"

Well this product is designed to tackle a big part of the problem:

VOCABULARY!!!

Specifically, Common Core Vocabulary. Those big pesky words at the beginning of testing questions that can take a well known skill and turn it into a mystery to a student, because they don’t know words like “analyze, synthesize, or distinguish.”
I set out on a mission to change that, and have compiled my work to share with you in hopes that we can all make testing a little less scary for students by preparing them for those tricky testing words!

This product includes resources for 26 testing terms, such as: analyze, infer, synthesize, compare/contrast, and many more!

Teacher Tips: Tips for using this product throughout the year
Word Wall Cards: A bright card for each word to display in the classroom and refer to often
Word Cubes: Students make a cube/dice for each word. They roll the cube and then practice using the word in 6 different ways!
Word Puzzles: Students match words with definition
Assessments
- Matching assessment with words and definitions
- 3 "You Write the Test" Activities where students read a passage and then create questions using the vocabulary words. Have students trade with a partner for practice with answering too!
