Hi! My name is Meredith, and I’m the teacher behind the Teachers Pay Teachers shop Bespoke ELA.

I am a high school English teacher with 10+ years of teaching experience, and I am still teaching in the classroom to this day. Years ago, I found myself getting deeper and deeper into debt. I had childcare bills, car payments, and a mortgage. On top of that, I fell ill with mold toxicity and then found out I had a tumor by my heart! The doctors found this by total accident on a scan where they were checking for something completely different. It was an incredibly stressful and dramatic few years with thousands upon thousands of medical bill debt.

Thank God that my tumor was benign, but I still had to have major surgery to remove it (and make sure that it wasn’t cancer). After all was said and done, my teaching job just could NOT cut it alone financially. I needed extra income, and I needed it FAST!!

That’s when a friend suggested that I open up a virtual store to sell my lessons and activities. I thought that it was a crazy idea because I just didn’t think there was a market for my resources. But I had to do SOMETHING!

Tutoring jobs were only paying between $12-$50 per hour and were taking me away from my family. So, I took the plunge and opened my shop. And then the unbelievable happened! The more I worked on my shop by adding high-quality resources, the more my shop grew.

I went from making $1 per day to $100 per day and upwards. AND— I realized that there was indeed an audience for my resources. Teachers Pay Teachers helped them find me.

While I am not affiliated with TpT, I decided to develop a course to share with you everything I’ve learned along the way to turn my lessons into profit. While I do not have all the answers, I can certainly give you the tips and tricks you need to get started so that you, too, can turn your lessons into profit.
