Description

This is a fun learning activity that integrates language arts, math, and art.

Why is this such a great activity?

It cultivates natural abilities while embedded with students grasping visual spatial skills.

It's differentiated and students can work individually or in small groups.

It is an introduction to geometric shapes and students can make connections with math and art; how shapes forms a picture.

There are 10 worksheets in this activity. Students will be given an opportunity to copy the tangrams, determine the visual presented, write what the image is and add new words to spell by filling in the blank sentences. This is also practice to learn filling in negative space by coloring the tangram and using those fine motor skills. Great activity for kindergarten, first grade and students with special needs.

Compose two-dimensional shapes (rectangles, squares, trapezoids, triangles, half-circles, and quarter-circles) or three-dimensional shapes (cubes, right rectangular prisms, right circular cones, and right circular cylinders) to create a composite shape, and compose new shapes from the composite shape.
