Take Away - A Subtraction Strategy Song

You know how it is...just when your students start to understand addition, you do an about face and throw subtraction at them. Sure, it's just the opposite of addition, but years of teaching first grade showed me the are never as fluent at subtraction as they are addition. That's where this song comes in! Create an atmosphere that is fun and educating as you play this song while they are practicing with pencil/paper, number lines, manipulatives, etc. Watch as they sing along, committing what you've taught them to long term memory.
