Description

WHAT'S INCLUDED: Project description with checklist for students (grading rubric included), sample student project for reference

BASIC CONCEPT: This project will take a student through the screen time feature on their iPhone. Students will examine how much time they spend interacting with their phone each week and design pie charts representing their data. Students will be encouraged to reflect on their current weekly screen time in regards to how much it is impacting their time. The goal is that students have a realization as to whether their phone use is impacting their lives in a positive or negative manner.

TIME LENGTH: Approximately 10 school days if students are mostly working in the classroom (including presentations). Student presentations should be kept to 5 minutes.

Students without an iPhone: Allow students to estimate their weekly screen time or (with parental permission) download an app that tracks phone use. Modify project as needed for students without an iPhone.

The theme of the project is the Avengers, but it can easily be adapted to not have this theme.

CONTACT ME: I created this project during the 2018/2019 school year. Please contact me with any questions that you have or if you would like to see some more student samples! [alosa.lectures@gmail.com]
