THANKSGIVING IN NEW YORK - DIDACTIC UNIT / LEARNING SITUATION

OBJECTIVES OF THE UNIT OR LEARNING SITUATION:

• To understand and learn about Thanksgiving with a critical eye
• To give an oral presentation about the history of Thanksgiving
• To write an informal letter to a friend talking about a celebration
• To create a  Thanksgiving Haiku 

In this unit, students will discover what Thanksgiving means by reading different sources and watching videos related to the topic. In other words, students will get to know the origins and history of the celebration with a critical eye. Moreover, by the end of the unit students will learn how to write an informal email about a celebration and a Thanksgiving Haiku that will reflect the thankful spirit of the celebration.

All these activities cover 13 sessions of teaching with complete materials to be ready to use. The level of English should be A1+ (European Framework of Languages)
