Description

This versatile, 92-slide Ppt is a great time-saver for teachers.

It can be used as a vocabulary game to provide students a competative way to be actively engaged with vocabulary, context clues, synonyms, and antonyms. (I've used this with my own students and they love it! It's best to do it in three rounds, but some classes could manage playing it straight through. My students enjoyed breaking it up into thirty minute increments and seeing who won each round.)

It can also be used as an entire semester of bell ringers.

Or, it can be printed in outline format and used as a vocabulary assessment.

Also, it may be printed as is, and laminated, which may be useful for working with students one on one or in small groups.

Also, this file can be used as an entire semester of exit slips or wrap-ups. (Or it can be used simultaneously as bell ringers and wrap-ups for 45 days - one nine weeks.)

Key Points:

* 92-slide Powerpoint

* contains 90 multiple-choice vocabulary questions that assess your students' knowledge of context clues, synonyms, and antonyms (There is also one homonym question included.)

* easy to use - easy to present - easy to print

* may be used for Bell Ringers, Exit Slips, Wrap Ups, a Vocabulary Game, an Assessment, or a combination of all of these activities (Need just a nine-weeks worth of bell ringers and exit slips? Then split this file in half - use the first 45 slides for bell ringers, and use the last 45 slides for exit slips or wrap-ups.)

* Every slide contains a fun or interesting clip art or photograph relative to the question or vocabulary term.

* includes answer key

Please download the preview for examples. Students will practice using synonyms, antonyms, and context clues. There is one question about homonyms.

The file is best suited for upper elementary / middle schoolers (4th to 6th Grade). Junior High students (7th - 8th Grade) in Reading Strategies should also find this file fun and useful.

Easy to follow directions for how to use the presentation in its various ways (as Bell Ringers or Wrap Ups or Exit Slips or an Assessment or as a Game) are included on slide 91. Slide 91 also includes the link to the complete National Vocabulary List for Grade 5.

The answer key is on slide 92.

Each question is multiple choice so that students can practice their standardized test-taking skills and teachers can use this file as an assessment (print it out in outline version).

Enjoy!
