These sun and moon differentiated informational reading passages are packed with information that is perfect for distance learning, your solar system unit, nonfiction reading, or in guided reading groups. Both and the sun and the moon come with 3 leveled reading passages (2 pages each) containing the same educational material & vocabulary, only varying by reading level. Reading passages range from Grade Level Equivalents of 3-5.5. All follow-up activities are thoughtfully planned to align to the ELA Common Core.

FOR EACH READING LEVEL:

• 2 Vocabulary Preview Charts:  The definition and visual are filled in for each vocabulary word, and students drag and drop the appropriate definition for each word. A blank vocabulary chart option is also included.
• Leveled Reading Passage (Ranges from Grade Level Equivalents of 3-5.5)
• Finding Text Evidence:  Students use color coded highlighted shapes to identify text evidence before writing answers to questions about the passage.
• Using Text Features: Students drag and drop images of text features from the passage where they belong to show what they look like, then describe the text feature’s purpose, and how it is helpful. Text features include headings, images and captions, bold words, chart/table, diagram, and timeline.
• Graphic Organizer: Students fill in text boxes of a graphic organizer using the information from the passage on what the planet looks like, its important statistics, what it’s like on it, and what we’ve seen of the planet.
• Vocabulary Crossword: Crossword provides independent vocabulary reinforcement after reading and seeing the words in context.
