What educators are saying

I am a librarian and have passed these out for students to read and fill out this summer. They are very excited. I love that you provide a list of books for that specific grade level so they can go to the public library and check out those books if they wish!
This was a great low-effort summer reading challenge that families got on board with! I had way more students than normal return their sheet and share their summer reading journey with me.

    Description

Librarians, looking for summer reading challenges for kindergarten through fifth grade? These printable reading logs allow students to choose books based on their preferences and what is available at their local library, with fun challenges like "read a book barefoot."

On the back of the reading logs, you'll copy the suggested reading lists for the different grades. The reading list includes popular books at the grade-appropriate reading level. Many of the books are series, so that students can continue reading about a favorite character they meet during the summer. Many families appreciate guidance when choosing books to read.

There is space to write down the title for each book that the student reads. You can provide a treat to your students next fall when they return with their completed challenge.

Summer reading is so important to help our students be successful. I hope this challenge will help your students to enjoy their summer reading!

These challenges are EDITABLE PowerPoint files, so that you can edit the titles to include community favorites or your state reading award lists.
