Summer Olympics 2024 Summer Games Paris Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade

The world will soon be buzzing with all things Summer Olympics as Paris, France prepares to host them in 2024! Your students will love these engaging activities that will better help them understand the different sports and athletes that are celebrated during the summer games. They'll even learn to draw Phryge, this year's mascot! The activities can easily be used with kindergarten, first grade, and second grade students.

This is a Summer Olympics companion pack and is intended to be used alongside your studies of the Summer Games. The activities were created to enhance your unit of study. There are no scripted lesson plans or unit guide included. Be sure to check out the PREVIEW to see more!

What grades are best suited to use this Summer Olympics resource?

This Summer Games resource was designed with kindergarten, first grade and second grade in mind, though some of the activities could be appropriate for preschool or third grade. Please ask questions and check out the preview if you aren’t sure whether or not this resource will fit your needs!

Will this resource be updated for future Summer or Winter Games?

This pack was originally created for the 2018 Winter Games and one update was promised for the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing, China. That promise has been fulfilled and that resource was current for the 2022 games. I do not guarantee any updates after that date for any subsequent Winter Games.

The Summer Games was a SURPRISE add-on! No additional updates are promised.

Who created this resource?

This resource was designed by W. Abby Mullins, a former kindergarten and first grade teacher and mother of three, who most recently was an interventionist. She has a B.A. in Psychology from The University of Kentucky, along with a B.A. in Elementary Education from Northern Kentucky University. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Teaching from NKU with a specialization in leadership. Abby is passionate about education an enjoys creating materials that engage and inspire teachers and students alike!
