Description
A simple game to practise the declension of adjectives in the dative case with the indefinite article.
This file is printed out double-sided (turn over long side). The objects are cut out and part of them are placed in the suitcase. Alternatively, a real suitcase or another bag can be used. The cards with the adjectives are placed face up next to the suitcase.
The game is played in turn. The pupil whose turn it is chooses an object from the suitcase and looks for the adjective that matches the colour. The pupil then forms a sentence: "Das ist ein Koffer mit ..." + indefinite article in the dative case + object in the picture. Depending on the learner's level of knowledge, it is worth discussing the vocabulary together beforehand. The card can then be turned over. If everything is correct, the chip can be kept. The winner is the person with the most chips at the end.
The game is very simple, as only the adjective declension with the indefinite article in the dative case is practised. Depending on the class, however, it can be very worthwhile to spend a little time forming such sentences. Students will then never forget that adjectives in the dative always end in -en.
