The Burns Bilingual Format is a way of translating Spanish song lyrics word-for-word into English so that students can easily understand what each word means, as well as comprehend Spanish word order. Students will also be able to identify the words which are understood but not stated by the speaker (such as subject pronouns) because these words are given in parenthesis. Finally, this format helps students to identify verb conjugations because the infinitive of each conjugated verb is placed underneath it.
