SUBITIZING: NUMBER PALS 1-10
A craft to reinforce subitizing and formation.
Integrate first grade math and art to reinforce concepts in a fun and engaging way! Practice and solidify core math concepts with this adorable "Number Pals" math craft! My students LOVE learning math through art activities, and my classroom is always bright and colorful as we display our projects.
- This simple project integrates math and art together to create a collection "Number Pals" from one to ten. Each Number Pal comes in several different pieces (on the same page) for students to color, cut out and assemble the way they want! Along with arms, legs and a hat, each number pal also has subitizing drawings to represent that number (with tallies, fingers, dice, ten frames) to be glued onto the pal.
- All the templates are included so all you have to do is print them out for each student.
- The coloring, cutting, gluing and problem solving makes it a perfect hands-on activity.
- This craft is simple enough to be used in an independent math center. Just print the example from the cover and let students create!
- These cute pals make an awesome classroom or hallway display! Encourage your students to create their own details to add to their pals so they each have their own personalities!
