Tell them to read the passage or describe and talk about the picture using their best, fluent speech. On the SLP copy of the passage, mark each disfluency heard or observed.

To track progress the SLP may give the student a passage to read or picture scene to discuss and record their data, just as they did with the initial screening. Progress monitoring is an efficient and effective way to determine if the treatment and strategies are benefiting the student, if adjustments or changes need to made, and for student feedback.
