Description
Students who are at risk of harming themselves or others benefit from a formalized Student Safety Plan. Student Safety Plans help school staff to address how we as educators will be responsible for keeping the student safe in our building, and documenting who is responsible for implementing and monitoring the plan.
Consider using this plan for any student who exhibits unsafe behaviors while at school, including students experiencing suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, sexually aggressive behaviors, drug/alcohol abuse, elopement from class or school, cutting or other self-injurious behaviors, and so forth.
This Student Safety Plan is in .doc format, and can be used as-is, with check-boxes to indicate various safety precautions, or can be edited to meet your school's needs more specifically.
