State Areas - An Investigation using Large Numbers and Inequalities

Allow students to do some hands-on math learning as they research the area of each state in the United States. Students will work together to determine the areas of the states in New England (or a different region) and then work on their own region of the country. Students are provided practice for comparing state areas to see how it is necessary to understand place values and inequalities.
