Description
For this project, students will research an assigned state and design a 3D model to represent the state. The model will include the physical and topographic features of the state. Students will also be required to complete a State Report in addition to the 3D map model. The State Report research book is provided.
The file also includes a family letter, project instructions & examples, and 3 versions of a rubric that have different grade types.
The material used in the example model is air-dry clay. I recommend air-dry or salt-dough clay for older students--it is harder to handle. Modeling clay is recommended for younger students.
