What educators are saying

The teachers at my school are starting to explore PBL ideas to implement with our students. Our goal is to get our students ready for the "real world" after high school by providing them with engaging activities that teach them "real world" skills. This project is just the ticket. Thank you.

Description

This project is perfect for summer school, home school, genius hour, enrichment, gifted, or independent work time!

This comprehensive project is designed to help students develop essential skills in design, research, advertising, business, and presentation while creating a unique and marketable product.

Students will work collaboratively and think creatively as they develop their food truck, select and purchase products within a budget, and craft their advertising campaigns. The end result will be a fully realized truck that students can be proud of and a learning experience that will prepare them for future projects and challenges.

In this project, students will build the food truck of their dreams. They will decide on a theme and a menu, as well as purchase equipment and food supplies. They will calculate the cost of hiring employees as well as profit margins for their menu prices. They will design the outside of their food truck as well as make an advertisement flyer online.

Materials Needed: This packet, a device with internet to watch the included videos and to complete research.

Timeline: This is an extensive project that will take approximately 5-6 weeks.

Final Presentation: If time allows, have students present their final advertisement to the class.
