Description

Since many of the days in winter are "inside days," I believe it is a good time to study space. These lesson plans include a thematic study of the stars, the star constellations, our closest star - the sun, the Sundial and time.

Even though the focus is on science and vocabulary development, phonemic awareness, reading, counting, cooking, painting and singing are also included. All songs are either traditional or of my own creation sung to known nursery tunes that help reinforce concepts. Individual Standards are listed on the TpT page.

When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.
Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted.
Understand that each successive number name refers to a quantity that is one larger.
