Star of the Day, A year's worth of oral presentations ~ WOW ~ Just Print and GO!

This unit will cover a full school year of oral presentations. I call it Star of the Day, some years I have named it Leader of the Day. These presentations are a perfect way for students to begin practicing their public speaking skills while honoring each student in the class! Just give each student a copy of the presentation page for the month. I send home the month's presentation a week before to build confidence. You do not want to miss a month of these presentations! You will learn so much about your students and watch their literacy skills grow! They will make your students more confident in their speaking, and it’s a great way to incorporate Common Core in your classroom. Have fun!

Round 0– Send home note to parents explain what the Star of the day is here!

Round 1– Family Picture, Classroom Family- During the Star of the day time have everyone in the class write the star’s name at the bottom and draw a picture of the star student. Staple everyone’s paper together and give it to the Star student as a book. This is also a great time to talk about quality work. There is also a reminder letter for parents to send in a family picture.
