StandUp Quiz - Vocabulary game

This file allows you to have your whole class play a vocabulary game similar to "Quizlet live" but without the students needing a smartphone. It's very easy to use and the students love to play it. The instructions are in the file itself, but I still write them down below.

When you have downloaded the file, you must rename it by changing "xlsx" to "xlsm" before opening it. When opening, click on "activate macros".

Instructions:

You should enter a list of word of your choice in coloumns A and B. The words already written are here as an exemple to test the file, you can delete them.

The game works best with a list of around 40 words.

Rules of the game:

First, you need to form teams of around 3-4 students (max. 6 teams).

The teacher clicks on the "Mix" box, which has the effect of mixing the words of the 6 lists as well as the main word.

The teams that have the translation on their list must stand up.

Sometimes no team has the translation on their list.

If a team stands up when they dont't have the word, they lose a point.

If a team does not stand up when they have the word, they lose a point.

Finally, if a team stands up when they have the word, they earn a point.

The first team with 6 points wins.

On the line 16, you see wich teams is supposed to stand up so students should not see this line. For this, we can for example use the zoom function of the beamer in order to display only the main table so that the teacher can see line 16 and not the students.

You decide how long it leaves for the students to react (eg 3 seconds, by tapping 3x on the table).
