What educators are saying
Description
This 45 page* novel study will assist students in comprehension and critical thinking while reading whole class, in a small group, or independently, Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You by Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi. Reynolds and Kendi's brilliant partnership is a must read for students hoping to gain a clear and engaging understanding of how race has been viewed and used in American history.
Teachers can assign 50 critical thinking and recall questions to be answered during reading to hold students accountable for close reading. When finished with each section 23 multiple choice exit tickets can be given or compiled for an end of book test. Also included are 32 task cards with DBQ/ discussion/ short essay type questions. All parts of the document are arranged in chapter order and can be broken down and assigned by book section or in their entirety.
For ease of assignment over distance learning there is also a section which compiles the recall questions, DBQ questions, and multiple choice questions and groups them together by book section so students can complete an entire section at home.
Answer keys are included for recall and multiple choice questions. Book/ reading passages not included.
*Please note that the first 20 pages of the document are intended for teachers interested in presenting the critical thinking, recall, and multiple choice questions in one packet while the following 25 pages repeat that information but change presentation styles for teachers who would prefer task cards, exit tickets, and recall questions presented separately.
