Description

  • This lesson plan goes hand in hand with the lesson plan and the worksheets a part of the bundle package.

  • This lesson has it all. A hook, a story, a worksheet, and a discussion. The hook is a local story to the creator of this lesson, which is about an unsolved murder case in the city of Kingston, NY.

  • The educator will then tell the story of the massacre, most points of talking can be found in the lesson plan and on the slideshow - but if you would like to brush up on your history - the History.com version of the story is linked in this plan.

  • Throughout the story you should be asking your students questions - keep asking them 'why' and other such things

  • Students then have time to fill in their worksheet, to get ready for the discussion.

  • Finally, there are discussion questions to wrap up the day.

This is meant for 8th grade - but could be adapted to any secondary grade.
