What educators are saying

These are fun activities and I've used them in all my high school classes around St. Pattys Day, They are fun to review earlier information and reinforce skills they need to know and may not have practiced wince the beginning of the year.
This is a great resource! This is excellent practice for students who struggle with data analysis and graphing skills. My students were engaged and enjoyed the interesting holiday twist!

Description

St. Patrick's Day is a great opportunity for students to practice their data analysis and interpretation skills. Lucky them! These activities focus on gathering, observing, and understanding data patterns. The package includes:

"Lucky Charm Lab" - In this lab, students predict and determine the ratio between oats and marshmallows in a box of Lucky Charms by measuring mass and volume of each. Is it healthy enough for our leprechaun friend to eat for breakfast?

"Sitting on a Gold Mine!" - NO PREP! This worksheet focuses on overall tonnage of gold mined each year throughout the world and where the major industrial gold mines are located.

"Tis a Grand Day in Ireland" - NO PREP! This worksheet uses climographs to compare the weather in Ireland and the USA. It includes data interpretation questions to challenge their understanding.

"Have You Seen Copper Green?" - In this lab, students determine how much mass a small copper object, such as a penny, gains after turning green from corrosion.

"Vernal Equinox" - NO PREP! This worksheet teaches students about the vernal equinox and has them compare the correlation between Earth's declination throughout the year and the amount of sunlight hours in a day

These activities are great to get your students excited about St. Patrick's Day and practice their data skills at the same time. Enjoy!!!
