What educators are saying

I'm obsessed, my students are obsessed. It's like a monthly surprise since the students don't know what it is going to be until it's up!
This is MY FAVORITE mural that my class has made!!! This resource allowed me to differentiate and it gave students more practice with their math skills. It look so amazing in the hallway that my principal featured it in the Parent Newsletter for the month of March.

Description

Your students will have a blast creating this St. Patrick's Day color by number mural using their math and coloring skills. This product contains 30 mystery pictures that combine to form a 3 by 3.5 foot St. Patrick's Day mural! This is a fun and engaging March activity that has a big wow factor when complete.

If you don’t have 30 students in your class you can have some students complete two mural pieces.

This activity is easy to differentiate and suits many grade and skill levels.

For Kindergarten choose any of the following worksheets: matching numbers to 10, matching numbers to 20, number words to 10

For Grades 1 and 2 choose any of the following worksheets: addition to 10, addition to 20, subtraction within 10, subtraction within 20.

For Grades 3 and above choose any of the following worksheets: multiplication mix of factors 1 to 6, multiplication mix of factors 7 to 12, division mix of factors 1 to 6, division mix of factors 7 to 12

When students have completed their piece of the mystery picture mural, the teacher can assemble the mural and hang it on a bulletin board or a wall. Instructions for how to assemble the mural are included.

Note: There are 12 PDF files, each one covers a skill listed above. There is a total of 360 pages but you will just use 30 of those pages for your mural.

Fluently add and subtract within 5.
Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on; making ten (e.g., 8 + 6 = 8 + 2 + 4 = 10 + 4 = 14); decomposing a number leading to a ten (e.g., 13 - 4 = 13 - 3 - 1 = 10 - 1 = 9); using the relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., knowing that 8 + 4 = 12, one knows 12 - 8 = 4); and creating equivalent but easier or known sums (e.g., adding 6 + 7 by creating the known equivalent 6 + 6 + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13).
Determine the unknown whole number in an addition or subtraction equation relating three whole numbers. For example, determine the unknown number that makes the equation true in each of the equations 8 + ? = 11, 5 = ▯ - 3, 6 + 6 = ▯.
Determine the unknown whole number in a multiplication or division equation relating three whole numbers. For example, determine the unknown number that makes the equation true in each of the equations 8 × ? = 48, 5 = __ ÷ 3, 6 × 6 = ?.
