  • 2 picture cards per letter

HOW TO USE SPRING LETTER SOUND ACTIVITY:

Letter Tracing Cards:

  1. Print, laminate, and cut out cards.
  2. Students will use the manipulative to “trace” the letters. (Laying playdough on the letters, tracing the letter with a dry erase marker, writing the letters in sand or sprinkles)

  2. Students will flip over 2 cards at a time.
  3. If the cards match, the student will keep their cards.
  4. If the card do not match, the student will turn the cards back over.

Simple Match:

  1. Lay one of each card face up and the other cards in a pile.
  2. Students will draw a card from the pile.
  3. They will choose the matching letter (or they can hit the letter with a swatter).

* You can also have students say the letter sound as they hit the letter.

Sound Sort:

  1. Lay out letter cards (all or just a few).
  2. Students will sort the picture cards to the correct letter. (“X” is based on ending sounds)
