Description

Spring Informative/Explanatory Writing unit: This common core writing unit teaches kids to begin to use mentor (paired) texts and gives you the option to teach them to cite an article when writing an informative piece. There are 4 prompts and week long activities to go with each prompt.
The unit includes:

Text type posters featuring parts of an informative and explanatory piece

Four prompts:
Spring
Insects
Rain
How to plant a seed

Each prompt includes:
2 mentor/paired texts for each prompt
Questions for each prompt
Note taking pages
Graphic organizer (2 options for differentiation)
Writing master
Homework cover sheets (various choices if you choose to send for homework)
