What educators are saying

This was a great way to get students to share about their spring breaks and also was a great introduction to the different parts of a newspaper. I ended up turning all of my students' newspapers into a class book, so they could read about each others' spring breaks.

Description

Looking for a writing activity for your students to complete after spring break? Have your students write about their vacation while at the same time, learning the proper format of a newspaper article. A vacation, however, is not required for this activity. All students need to have done is created a memory (past experiences are welcome) and that’s what counts for this assignment.

If you are looking for a FUN and ENGAGING group activity to complete before the spring break vacation, check out my Spring Break Escape Room!

What's included in the file?
-Assignment instructions
-Newspaper outline
-Practice paper
-Newspaper template
-Brainstorm sheet
-Peer review checklist
-Rubric

After each article has been reviewed at the end of the activity, why not submit these to your local paper and see if any can get published?
