Spiders, game spinners, and smash mats make for an exciting speech therapy session during your Halloween or bug-themed therapy sessions!
This resource includes 35 play dough articulation spider mats targeting 22 different phonemes and four language mats. Play dough mats are used to engage children interactive fun while working on speech sounds & language skills. Your OT will love the fine motor skills required for this activity!
Directions: Use a paper clip and a pencil to make the colorful spider into a spinner. After flicking the paper clip, find a spider with the color the paper clip stopped on. I often instruct children to produce each target word 5 times before covering the spider with a play dough. After children finish making or smashing the spider, I let them add googly eyes! Sometimes they enjoy adding several spider eyes! These play dough mats have been wildly popular among children I work with, and I hope you find the same success with them in your therapy room as well!
