Spelling Worksheet Templates Pack! Customize with your words for grades 1-3

Here's an easy way to make worksheets to supplement your spelling program or even design your own spelling program with this pack. It includes 8 customizable worksheet templates, a homework template, and a spelling test form with room for optional sentences on the back. Each worksheet template is set up for a total of 10 words. These templates are created in Microsoft Word and use Century Gothic font. What makes a template different? It is set up so that there is no danger of overwriting the original. Each time a template is opened, it will be named “Document” with a number so that it’s like fresh blank. After you make your changes, just save it with a name.

The sample images show the Cover Page, the Missing Letter Worksheet, the Word Search Worksheet, and the Identify the Misspelled Word worksheet. The preview download shows all of worksheets with directions in a PDF file (some images got a bit blurry when I imported them from Word, but they are truly crisp and clear in the original Word format).

Here are the specific items included with this lesson:

*Write Spelling Words – student copies each spelling word two times

*Write Missing Letter – student writes missing letter in a blank then copies spelling word

*Word Base Spelling – student chooses a beginning letter(s) to write in front of a word base

*Choose Correctly Spelled Word – student circles correctly spelled word from 4 choices and writes correct word

*Identify Misspelled Word – student circles incorrectly spelled word in a sentence then writes word correctly

*Spelling Word Search – student circles spelling words in puzzle then writes words found

*Scrambled Spelling Words – student writes scrambled letters in correct order

*Write Spelling Word sentences – student writes a sentence for the given spelling words

*Spelling Homework – student takes a practice test at home; includes list for practice

*Spelling Test Form (not a template) – blank writing lines for test; optional back has two sentence lines (use 2-sided copy)

*Cover Page and directions sheet for teacher

All of the materials are included in a compressed file. When you download it, you will find the Word worksheet templates and directions in PDF inside. Click on extract all files and the files will open normally in Word and PDF.

These templates work best with the Microsoft Word program, however it's possible to use and edit them as Google docs.
