Description

Speech therapy: following directions activity. CHALLENGING following complex directions activities for speech therapy!

Your speech therapy students will have so much fun with these complex following directions worksheets- and these activities will make them stop and realise how important it is to listen carefully!

This following directions packet targets complex location directions, conditional directions, temporal directions, & sequential directions! I use this all the time in therapy! It’s definitely a “must-have” in my speech therapy room.

Listening skills are so important for success in the classroom, and these following directions activities were designed to CHALLENGE  your speech therapy students!

If you're trying to motivate your older speech therapy students, try these engaging following directions activities!

They're no prep, low ink, motivating, and FUN. They're easy to use. You simply print out the page you need.

You have the option to work on spoken directions (as an auditory comprehension listening skills activity) or written directions. Just cut off the top portion of the page and give your student the bottom piece of the page if you’d like to work on following spoken directions.

Here's what you'll get:

  • 18 following directions worksheet- perfect for individual or mixed group speech therapy

Embedded Concepts included:

  • Temporal
  • Spatial (location)
  • Sequential
  • Conditional

These are COMPLEX multistep following directions worksheets. They contain a variety of embedded concepts and multiple modifiers to challenge your speech therapy students.

The secret to motivating your older speech therapy students? Make it a CHALLENGE.

My speech therapy students ask to do these following directions listening skills worksheets ALL THE TIME- and they like to challenge each other while they do so (so they’re perfect for individual or small groups).

The bottom line: these following directions activities are challenging, easy to use, and engaging- and your speech therapy students will ASK to do these activities over and over again.

They are the ideal way to work on listening skills in your speech and language therapy sessions.

Prep is quick and easy... Just print the following direction pages with the concepts you’d like to target.

I store mine in a binder for easy grab ‘n go access. I always have extra copies of these following directions worksheets printed out and ready to go!

I love to use these following directions worksheets as a quick “warm up” before the session begins- or, combine 2-3 worksheets for an entire lesson. You will need to be seated beside your student or small group of students to ensure directions are being followed in the correct order.

You can’t go wrong with these following directions activities for your speech therapy sessions. Your speech therapy students will learn to focus, listen closely, and be motivated to improve their performance each session.
