Description

This activity can be used across so many grade levels! The standards are specific to 3rd, 4th and 5th according to CCSS but is still helpful for any grade level! This is a beginning of the year activity you can do with your students to learn what the expectations are of EVERY conversation you have whether it's one-on-one, small group or whole class discussions! Also great to be paired with my Accountable Talk posters (only $2.00 in my TPT store!). It is complete with a model/poster to display for students then posters that break down each of the five rules which are directly correlated to the Speaking and Listening guidelines of the CCSS. There are also guided student sheets with an independent group activity where they can practice what they've learned! Great practice for the rest of the year. Would be good to "retrain" student brains to speak like this all the time! Happy teaching!
