Description

Have your students ring in the New Year with wishes that use the present subjunctive.

Students are given a list of subjunctive clauses (e.g., Esperar que, Preferir que...) and a list of possible wishes (mis profesores "ser" amables, mis padres me "dar" un perro). Students choose 10 different subjunctive clauses and 10 different wishes to create complete sentences .

An example sentence may be: "Espero que mis padres me den un perro."

Then, students are given a string of words and a subjunctive or indicative clause. Students decide if the sentence uses the subjunctive or indicative mood and write a complete sentences. Some indicative clauses are "Estoy seguro que" or "Es obvio que."

An answer sheet is provided.
