Unit: Contemporary Life/Travel Unit
Levels: Novice High/Intermediate Levels (see preview for text sample)
Scenario: You want to improve your proficiency in Spanish. You decide to convince your teacher to lead a week-long school trip for your language club to a country where Spanish is spoken. (You have to choose between Costa Rica and Spain, citing evidence from the materials provided).
- Interpretive: Watch videos promoting tourism and read itineraries of the potential trips to Costa Rica and Spain. Answer comprehension questions.
- Presentational: Write a convincing letter to your teacher explaining your preferred destination for the class trip.
- Interpersonal: Discuss the advantages and disadvantages to each of the destinations with a partner. Use the information from the videos and articles.
