Description
A Spanish IPA Quinceanera for Novice Spanish students. This Integrated Performance Assessment assesses all three communicative modes, including interpretive, presentational, and interpersonal skills. Unit: Families & Communities/Contemporary Life
Scenario: You are visiting a family friend who lives in Colombia. While you are there, your friend is celebrating her Quinceañera. You find out about her cultural traditions and celebrations and compare them to ones from the U.S.
Interpretive: Read a list of 10 facts about the quinceañera.
Presentational: Write an email to your friends back home about the Quinceañera you are going to.
Interpersonal: When you get back home to the U.S. you talk to your friends about the traditions/customs of a quinceañera. Compare and contrast them to U.S. traditions/customs.
