This three page webquest (written in English) takes students on a journey to research the events and vocabulary of Semana Santa. Students are mainly asked about the traditions in the processions in Spain but it does ask students to look at the Semana Santa traditions in other Spanish-speaking countries and compare/contrast. Questions range from basic information to making connections and educated guesses on the traditions. Students also define the roles in the processions as well as the various materials and images throughout the procession.
A list of suggested websites to use is included at the top of the webquest for students.
Although the webquest is in English, students can respond in Spanish. Also, because this is in English, it can be utilized in other subject areas such as social studies or history! You can supplement this webquest with a Beautiful Semana Santa Photo and VIDEO Presentation (updated April 2019!), sold separately.
An answer key is included.
