Creating the cut & paste models of our solar system is an EASY way to go beyond the book. This resource is differentiated to suit multiple ability levels! From learning about our solar system to understanding the science behind solar eclipses, this resource is full of engaging fun!

    • 10 reading passages with color coded questions and answer keys (ideal for 2nd-5th grade students)

    • 20 open-ended prompt worksheets to take notes and spark small group discussions

    • A Solar System Craft

    Students color and cut out the planets. Then, glue them in order on construction paper. They trace the planet name, use the sentence, or fill in sentence frame. Cut it out and glue it next to the corresponding planet.

    (Differentiated* Pg.4 is for primary levels with complete text. Pg. 5 is for higher ability levels with fill in vocabulary blanks.)

    • Foldable Reader: (Great for centers or workshop)

    Book Directions: Just print, fold in half (hamburger style), and then in half again along the line. Facts and a picture are on the front cover. The tracing and writing pages are inside. The drawing portion ends up as the back cover.

    • Solar System / Earth Posters: visual for the length of a year and day.

    • Write the Room Activity (Primary)

    Cut apart the words and tape them around your room. Give students the blank grid to fill in with the words they find as they walk around. (Great workshop group activity)
