What educators are saying

These sound cards are perfect for speech therapy! They are great to use for visual cues to help students see placements of different sounds. They are especially helpful for children who haven't learned letters yet.
This resource is so helpful to students. Using small mirrors students are able to see their mouths and make sure they are making the sound correctly.

Description

Take your sound wall to the next level with these CVC flip books that contain word families (or phonograms) that will help students understand the motor movement associated with each sound in the word and learn how to blend. These are great for students who struggle learning to read and for students with apraxia. Download the FREE SAMPLE in the PREVIEW.

Large, full size cards review the placement of the sound, manner in which it is produced, and voicing (or voiceless sound) of each are also provided.

See the pictures for the word families in this unit!

The flip books are for practice whether in your speech room or center area for your students to review the sound that goes with each letter. Very visual, these were created to be printed in color, laminated, and put on rings for flipping through the word family. I left blank cards so that you can create your own if needed!

Research Based:

“Said in a simpler way, language learners can decode many new or unfamiliar words through understanding what different prefixes and suffixes do to a root word. The technique can also help people figure out spellings of words they hear or determine the etymology of a word.”

Recent feedback:

On February 21, 2016:

"This looks AWESOME! I'm going to start putting some together tomorrow. Many of my kindergarten students are having a hard time with this in their classrooms. If this works as well as I think it will, I'll be directing my Kindergarten team to this activity."
