Sound Tech Cheat Sheet
- Mpeg-4 Video File
Description
High school theatre directors have a LOT to do. Often, you don't have time to train each technician on your specific protocols, procedures, and expectations. You don't have to do it all yourself. Don't be afraid to delegate. No, it won't be as perfect as if you did it yourself, but remember, this is EDUCATIONAL theatre. Choose a sound technician that you trust, give them the cheatsheet, and let them go and start learning while you're putting out all the other fires. Schedule a time to follow up with them on a regular basis so they can ask you questions that you'd rather not stop rehearsal to answer. You may be surprised at the progress they can make on their own! They will have ownership in the production and build self-confidence.
