Description
Stop wasting valuable wall space on the hundreds of sight words we teach our students! Word walls are overwhelming, and under-utilized by your struggling readers.
The “Sound City Bandits” will display sight words that are irregular, aka not decodable, in a fun and engaging way. This will save space, and help students shift memory workload to the smaller amount of words that are irregular.
As you teach a word that is irregular add a word window to the bandit city. This will help students remember this word is irregular and cannot be read using sound patterns. The "Bandits" have stolen the correct sounds!
Included are the following irregular sight words: a, about, all, also, any, are, around, as, because, been, come, could, do, does, from, get, give, has, have, is, many, more, of, one, only, people, put, said, some, the, their, there, they, to, too, two, very, want, was, were, what, where, who, words, would, you, your.
You will receive editable word windows to add your own irregular words, as well as color and black line copying options.
Paper piecing is required to make the skyscrapers on the bulletin boards. If you are not interested in piecing you could always use a large sheet of butcher paper to make your buildings.
