Description

This 25- question, auto-grading Google Forms assignment provides students with practice or assesses solving systems of linear equations + inequalities. There are 3 sections organized by the method for solving:

  • Solve by Graphing
  • Solve using Substitution
  • Solve using Elimination
  • Writing and Solving Linear Systems (Word Problems)
  • Graphing Linear Inequalities
  • Graphing Systems of Linear Inequalities

Most questions are "short response" that ask students to solve and type their answer as an ordered pair. I would encourage them to be very careful when typing their solution and that the best answer does not have any spaces. (I gave a few acceptable responses with spaces in different places, though). Some questions also use the "drop-down" feature when asking to determine the number of solutions (one solutions, infinitely many solutions or no solution). There are also a few multiple-choice questions and "select all that apply".

This download also includes a PDF "worksheet" with the exact same questions as the Google Form. Just assign digitally or print + go!

This assignment is also included in my:

Prove that, given a system of two equations in two variables, replacing one equation by the sum of that equation and a multiple of the other produces a system with the same solutions.
Solve systems of linear equations exactly and approximately (e.g., with graphs), focusing on pairs of linear equations in two variables.
Graph the solutions to a linear inequality in two variables as a half-plane (excluding the boundary in the case of a strict inequality), and graph the solution set to a system of linear inequalities in two variables as the intersection of the corresponding half-planes.
