Description

Printable PDF & Digital Versions are included in this distance learning ready activity which consists of 11 systems of equations in slope intercept form that students must solve by graphing, elimination or substitution.

Important Information

Not all boxes are used in the maze to avoid students from just figuring out the correct route. Students will have to correctly solve 8 systems in slope intercept form to complete the maze.

Ways to Use this Maze

1) Have students solve each system any way they choose (graphing, substitution, or elimination)

2) Use the included “Show Your work” page and have students graph each system to find the solution

3) Have students use their graphing calculator to calculate the intersection of the 2 equations. (This is great for the week before state tests)

4) Have students “guess & check” by plugging in the possible answers. (This is a good strategy for struggling students to help them succeed on multiple choice questions)

Distance learning?

  • No problem! This activity now includes Google Slides & Easel by TPT digital options!

Analyze and solve pairs of simultaneous linear equations.
Understand that solutions to a system of two linear equations in two variables correspond to points of intersection of their graphs, because points of intersection satisfy both equations simultaneously.
Solve systems of two linear equations in two variables algebraically, and estimate solutions by graphing the equations. Solve simple cases by inspection. For example, 3𝘹 + 2𝘺 = 5 and 3𝘹 + 2𝘺 = 6 have no solution because 3𝘹 + 2𝘺 cannot simultaneously be 5 and 6.
Solve systems of linear equations exactly and approximately (e.g., with graphs), focusing on pairs of linear equations in two variables.
